使用低剂量的近红外激光（810nm二极管）进行激光治疗。使用正常人口腔角质形成细胞和成纤维细胞细胞，并使用实时聚合酶链式反应、蛋白质印迹和免疫染色评估HBD-2 mRNA和蛋白质表达。利用通路特异性小分子抑制剂探究转化生长因子（TGF）-β1信号在此过程中的作用。

结果显示，与角质形成细胞系相比，激光治疗强烈诱导口腔成纤维细胞系中HBD-2的表达。低剂量激光治疗导致介导HBD-2表达的TGF-β1通路的活化。 TGF-β1信号传导的两个臂，Smad和非Smad都参与激光介导的HBD-2的表达。

综上所述，该研究结果表明，激光活化的TGF-β1信号传导和HBD-2的诱导表达，两者均能够促进邻近高功率手术激光应用的组织中的愈合。此外，使用低剂量激光疗法本身可以为牙周或种植体周围疾病的有效临床管理提供额外的治疗益处。
