目前，牙科医师在读取根尖周X线片时对能够引起其注意的视觉搜寻模式以及区域还未可知。这篇研究的目的是为了确定在读取根尖周X线片时牙科医师的注视区域和模式。这项观察性试验使用视觉追踪技术，通过Camtasia软件(TechSmith， Okemos， MI，自带视觉追踪"气泡"，它可以指示出观察者读取X线片时的视觉停留区域)观察和记录44名便利观察者样本对根尖周X线片的读取过程。所记录的观察内容包括扫描模式、首次注视区域和再次注视区域。同时，也记录首次和再次注视区域是否为阻射、透射或正常放射密度以及是冠方还是根方区域。结果显示，与正常或平均灰度相比，观察者的首次注视更倾向于停留在高对比度区域，不论是阻射还是透射。再次注视更多的发生在阻射和牙根区域。在4种分类扫描模式中，观察者以逐颗牙齿扫描的读片方式为主。结论：在读取X线片时，与正常区域相比，更多的观察者最初注视于X线高对比度区域（ie 阻射或透射）。另外，最常采用逐颗牙齿的扫描模式进行读片。原始出处：Hermanson BP， Burgdorf GC， et al.
